Job Description
Technical B2B sales into New Zealand's civil and infrastructure sector Long-term relationship management with key project stakeholders Autonomy, variety and the opportunity to make your mark This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established supplier of technical infrastructure solutions as they rebuild their presence across the South Island. Supplying engineered products into major civil infrastructure, transport and commercial construction projects, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise and delivering solutions that meet the demands of New Zealand's infrastructure sector. As the South Island Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for developing new opportunities, strengthening existing relationships and, most importantly, working with consultants, engineers and project stakeholders to have solutions specified early in the design phase—well before projects reach the tender stage. The Role This is a true business development role focused on long-term relationship building rather than transactional sales. You'll be responsible for identifying upcoming projects, developing relationships with key decision makers, providing technical product advice and supporting customers throughout the specification and delivery process. Success in this role comes from building trust with engineers, consultants, asset owners and major civil contractors, understanding project requirements and positioning technically proven solutions that meet the demands of New Zealand's infrastructure sector. About You You'll understand that winning projects often starts long before construction begins. Whether you've sold engineered products, technical solutions or specialist construction materials, you'll know the value of influencing specifications, building credibility with consultants and engineers, and creating opportunities that flow through to contractors and project delivery. You’ll ideally bring: Business development experience selling technical or engineered products into construction, infrastructure, industrial or trade environments. Experience engaging with consultants, engineers, councils, asset owners or major contractors. An understanding of specification selling and the construction project lifecycle. A relationship-first approach, with the ability to build long-term partnerships across multiple stakeholder groups. Commercial acumen and the drive to develop a territory with significant growth potential. What's on Offer Opportunity to establish and grow a key South Island territory. Represent a highly respected supplier with technically proven products and a strong reputation. Work alongside councils, governmental organisations, consultants and leading civil contractors on significant infrastructure projects. High level of autonomy backed by an experienced national team. Competitive salary package including vehicle and tools of the trade. If you're looking for a role where you can combine technical sales, relationship management and strategic business development while helping shape major infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you. Please note that all applications are reviewed; however, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. If you have any questions about your application, please feel free to call or email the consultant whose details are listed on the advertisement. #J-18808-Ljbffr
