The opportunity PERSOL is recruiting on behalf of Programmed Facility Management for a Grounds Maintenance Assistant to join the team at Manukau Memorial Gardens Cemetery . If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and take pride in keeping public spaces looking their best, this could be the opportunity for you. This is a permanent, full-time position based in South Auckland, where you'll work alongside a supportive team maintaining one of Auckland's most important public spaces. Responsibilities Mowing lawns Weed eating and edging Blowing pathways and public areas General garden and landscape maintenance Cemetery upkeep Supporting the horticulture team to maintain beautiful, respectful grounds to a high standard About You We're looking for someone who: Enjoys physical outdoor work and is happy working in all weather conditions Is reliable, hardworking, and enjoys being part of a team Can confidently drive a manual vehicle (essential) Holds a Full or Restricted New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence Is comfortable working within a cemetery environment Has a practical, hands-on approach to work Previous horticulture, landscaping, or outdoor labouring experience is an advantage, but not essential. We're happy to train someone with the right attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
