About the role

As a Design Controls Engineer, you'll play an important role in bringing innovative medical devices from concept through to manufacturing. You'll work across the full product lifecycle, helping ensure our products are safe, effective, and meet regulatory requirements. Working closely with teams across all functions, you'll help solve problems, improve processes, and turn ideas into products that make a real difference.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting design controls activities across the product lifecycle, including requirements, verification, validation, and traceability.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to review designs, support design reviews, and help deliver products from development through to manufacturing.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including design records, manufacturing documentation, risk assessments, specifications, and traceability matrices.
  • Supporting risk management, usability, and design validation activities to ensure our products are safe, effective, and meet user needs.
  • Helping ensure compliance with medical device standards, including ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.



About you

You are a proactive and curious engineer who enjoys working collaboratively, solving problems, and contributing to meaningful medical device innovation.

You will bring:

  • A relevant qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in the design, development, or process development of medical devices.
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle, from concept development through to manufacturing.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and working within a quality management system (such as ISO 13485 or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience with risk management, design validation, usability testing, or medical electrical equipment would be advantageous.
  • You can work autonomously while collaborating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • You are confident asking questions, seeking clarity, and constructively challenging ideas when needed.
  • You have strong analytical thinking and can apply a structured approach to solving problems.
  • You communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
