Reference: 135_482076_359

We are looking for a confident, people-focused Retail Lead to join our Greymouth clinic and help shape the retail experience across West Coast Vets. This is a full-time role for someone who enjoys bringing people, service and commercial thinking together.

Based in the heart of the West Coast, you'll lead from the front in a close-knit clinic that supports pets, farms and rural communities. It's a role with real variety, visible impact and the chance to build a life in a region known for rugged coastlines, native bush, open space and down-to-earth people.

Why West Coast Vets?

For more than 50 years, we've been on the Coast, for the Coast. We're a progressive, New Zealand-owned veterinary business with deep local roots and a genuine commitment to our people, animals and communities.

  • A purpose-led organisation where 'Here for Good' guides how we work.
  • A supportive, close-knit team where your contribution will be seen and valued.
  • A broad client base spanning companion animals, dairy, sheep, beef and equine.
  • Career development, training, staff benefits and wellbeing support.
  • The chance to live and work where beaches, bush, trails and weekend adventures are all close by.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, coaching and developing the retail team to deliver superb client experience.
  • Building a positive team culture with strong product and sales knowledge.
  • Managing workflow, training, feedback and day-to-day team performance.
  • Driving sustainable retail sales growth and achievement of agreed goals.
  • Leading inventory processes, including receipting, stock control, stocktakes and waste reduction.
  • Working closely with clinical teams to provide practical, meaningful solutions for clients.
  • Maintaining high standards of retail presentation, safety and seasonal promotions.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Bring 2+ years' experience in a retail role, ideally supervising or guiding others.
  • Have experience in an agricultural or veterinary environment and understand farming seasonality.
  • Are a confident people leader who can organise priorities, give feedback and navigate conflict.
  • Build trusted relationships easily and genuinely enjoy helping clients.
  • Have strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, and hold a current full driver's licence.

This is more than a retail role. It's an opportunity to become part of a team that takes pride in looking after its own. If you're ready for meaningful work and the West Coast way of life, we would love to hear from you.

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, so apply now!
