We are currently looking for an energetic Whānau Support Worker in Blenheim to support teenage women in their community. This is a part-time role and must be available weekdays afternoons between 3:30pm - 5:45pm. You will help them achieve their personal goals and engage in activities they enjoy, such as swimming, sports, arts and crafts, movies, shopping — the list is endless! About the role & about you You will support young people to build independence, confidence, and social connections in a hands-on, mentoring-focused role. The ideal person will be energetic, outgoing, and confident, with a genuine interest in mentoring and connecting with others. You’ll be supporting our clients community access, confidence building, and the development of independent life skills, including: Cooking Budgeting Money management Other qualities we’re looking for: People who are passionate about helping others, are kind and understanding. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience working with youth. Full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential. A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes. Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others thinking, and their way of living life that may be different to your own. This is a great opportunity for students who want hands-on experience supporting people with disabilities while sharing their passions. Hours 14 hours per fortnight Shifts across Monday – Friday afternoons (3:30pm - 5:45pm) Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
