Car Yard Assistant / Yard Hand Location: Manukau, Auckland Job Type: Full-time About the role Montay Trading Limited is looking for a reliable and hardworking Car Yard Assistant / Yard Hand to join our growing team in Manukau, Auckland. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with vehicles and being outdoors. Your primary responsibility will be maintaining our vehicle yard and supporting the day-to-day operations of the dealership. This is not a customer-facing sales role. Instead, you'll be responsible for keeping our vehicles organised, presentable, and ensuring they are where they need to be. What you'll be doing Moving and parking vehicles around the yard safely and efficiently Performing basic vehicle grooming, washing, vacuuming, and presentation to a high dealership standard, with full training provided by the company. Taking vehicles to and from: Warrant of Fitness (WOF) inspections Certificate of Fitness (COF) inspections (where applicable) Vehicle compliance centres Registration and licensing appointments Mechanical workshops and panel beaters Assisting with vehicle deliveries and collections Checking vehicle fuel levels, tyre pressures, and general condition Organising the vehicle yard and keeping it clean and tidy Assisting with stock movements between locations Reporting any vehicle damage or maintenance issues to management Completing other general yard and operational duties as required What we’re looking for Full New Zealand Driver Licence (essential) Confident driving both manual and automatic vehicles is preferred Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Good attention to detail and pride in keeping vehicles clean and organised Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks Basic knowledge of motor vehicles is an advantage but not essential Previous experience in a car dealership, rental company, grooming, or automotive environment is preferred but not required What we offer Full-time permanent position Stable employment with a growing automotive business Competitive hourly rate based on experience Supportive and friendly team environment On-the-job training Opportunity to grow within the business Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday work when required About us Montay Trading Limited is a growing automotive dealership based in Manukau, Auckland.
