He angitūtanga / The opportunity: As a Kitchen Assistant at Auckland Airport , you'll play a key role in supporting daily kitchen operations. From food prep to dishwashing, you'll help maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment while delivering friendly service and upholding Compass Group's high standards. This is a Casual position where hours of work are on " as and when" required basis upon business needs and rostered across 7 days of the week . Therefore, you MUST be available to work during weekends. Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities: Assist with food preparation, portioning, and plating for service. Maintain clean and hygienic kitchen, dining, and public areas. Wash dishes and sanitise kitchen equipment. Follow food safety, hygiene, and manual handling procedures. Communicate effectively with team members and follow supervisor instructions. He kōrero mōu / About you: Experience in a similar kitchen or catering role. Flexible, reliable, and physically fit with a strong work ethic. Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team. Positive attitude and commitment to health and safety. NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) and experience with kitchen cleaning equipment preferred.
