About the opportunity Our Takanini branch is on the lookout for a Branch Inventory Controller / Trade Sales superstar to join our dedicated team and branch. In this role you will take full ownership of inventory management, purchasing and coordination of regular stock takes. The right person will be well organised, system orientated, and show a high degree of initiative. This is a very hands‑on role so having excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, being methodical & reliable, and enjoying contributing to a successful team and business is imperative. Customer service is also at the forefront of this position as you will not only be dealing with internal clients but also our external customers who are the core of our business. This role will also involve serving customers on the trade counter and helping out where ever needed as the team all pitch in together to make things happen. Plumbing World is committed to our customer service promise, and we are focused on exceeding customers' expectations, so it's all hands‑on deck at the trade counter before 9:00 am no matter your role in the branch, this is to ensure customers are looked after straight away and they get what they need to start their day. What your day will look like: Full oversight of branch inventory management and purchasing. Coordinate and lead regular stock takes. Assist in coaching and mentoring staff. Manage and support customer relationships - both internal and external. Step into leadership duties when required. Provide hands‑on support across the branch as needed. Deliver excellent customer service at the trade counter, especially during morning peak hours. This is a permanent, full-time position working 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 4:00pm. To be successful in this role you will have: Proven attention to detail - this is critical to your success. Intermediate Excel skills. High level of numerical accuracy and confidence with data. Strong relationship‑building skills with customers, suppliers, and colleagues. Physically fit - some lifting is required (up to 20kgs) Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence.
