Job Description
Manager External Strategy and Programmes Maritime New Zealand operates as stewards of the maritime domain with its vision to prevent harm, save lives and secure the future. It operates by way of monitoring and regulation, ensuring ships and ports are safe, marine rescue, and ensuring our marine environment is safe and enjoyed for generations to come. The Manager External Strategy and Programmes reports to the DCE - CE's Office, Strategy and People and is accountable for translating organisational strategy and agreed frameworks, including the Harm Prevention Programmes Approach (HPPA), into multi-year external programmes that deliver Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga and Maritime NZ's harm prevention outcomes in partnership with the sector and others. The role will maintain a system-level view across external programmes with a strong focus on measurable outcomes and benefit realisation. Working across the organisation, the role ensures an integrated, collaborative and outcomes-focussed approach to programme delivery and regulatory approach. To be considered for this important role, you must have proven leadership experience that includes people, strategy, programme delivery, and stewardship. As a person you will be systems-thinking and delivery-focused. It would be helpful to have experience working in a regulatory environment and/or harm prevention and you must be collaborative and an effective relationship developer.
