Mō te tūnga | About the role We have an exciting secondment or fixed-term opportunity until 15 November 2027 as a Principal Portfolio Adviser. This role supports the Pathways and Services Portfolio Management Office Team within our Strategy & Corporate Services (SCS) group. The purpose of the Pathways and Services Portfolio is to:Set the direction for evolving Corrections' system for delivering services to the people in our care; andGovern the design, testing, piloting, and implementation of changes to Corrections' service delivery.This is a key role within the Portfolio team to ensure the Department invests in rehabilitation and reintegration services that are both effective and efficient, based on evidence and developed with expertise from our Māori partners, and community-based service providers. You will do this through influencing and driving key pieces of work for the Department's service delivery system, by working alongside our internal service / business owners and external partners to explore options, test risks and assumptions and apply a critical and analytical perspective.The role will also involve providing practice leadership on the P3M framework and providing advice and support to specific projects and programmes within the Pathways and Services Portfolio. It is an opportunity to develop and maintain positive relationships with a variety of project, programme and portfolio practitioners while maintaining a strategic, horizontal view across the entire enterprise. Mōu | About you To be successful in this role you ideally will have: Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills with the proven ability to effectively engage with and influence positive change with stakeholders, partners and governance groups. Demonstrated capability for problem solving, decision making, sound judgement, assertiveness. An understanding of complex organisations, people change and transformation environments. Practical experience working within large scale, multi-year projects/programmes with significant experience. Experience of working in both the project and change management disciplines and able to provide examples of where you have applied your knowledge of best practice methodologies, principles, frameworks and processes of successful project and change management. Utu ā-tau | Salary The mid-point of the salary range is $146,562 and the full range (85%-120%) is $124,578 - $175,875 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
