Job Description
Build the next generation of digital experiences At Alphero, we're creating and composing the intelligent digital experiences of the future. For more than 14 years we've partnered with organisations across New Zealand, Australia and the United States to design and deliver digital products that improve how people live, work and play. Chances are you've already used apps and websites we've helped create. Today we're evolving again. Alongside designing and building exceptional digital products, we're exploring how AI, intelligent services and composable technologies are changing what's possible. Our teams are helping clients navigate that future while continuing to deliver beautifully crafted, accessible and secure digital experiences today. We're looking for an experienced iOS Developer who enjoys solving complex problems, cares about quality, and wants to be part of shaping where mobile development goes next. The role As an iOS Developer at Alphero you'll work across the full product lifecycle, from early technical thinking and architecture through to delivery, release and ongoing evolution. Agency life means variety. You might be joining an established product, helping shape a brand new mobile experience, contributing to discovery work with a client, or collaborating with our wider team to solve a tricky technical challenge. Every project is different. You'll work closely with designers, strategists, QA specialists and other developers to build products that are intuitive, reliable and enjoyable to use. We believe the best ideas come from collaboration, so while we offer flexible hybrid working, we're very much an in-person team. What you'll be doing Building outstanding iOS applications - Develop high-quality native iOS applications using modern Swift, contributing to architecture, implementation, performance and maintainability across the products you work on. Delivering beautifully crafted customer experiences - Work alongside designers and testers to create experiences that feel polished, accessible and genuinely enjoyable to use. Working with modern engineering practices - Use contemporary tooling, automation and AI-assisted development to help you move faster while maintaining quality. We see AI as another engineering tool, one that helps developers spend more time solving interesting problems and less time writing repetitive code. Thoughtful engineering judgement, review and craftsmanship still matter. Contributing to our practice - Share ideas, mentor others where appropriate, stay current with the Apple ecosystem, and help us continually improve the way we build software. Flexibility around hours and the option for hybrid working with a day or two WFH a week. Plus three months paid parental leave for the primary carer, two weeks for secondary. And everyone gets a day off on their birthday! Great pay and perks Competitive salaries that keep up with the market and are regularly reviewed, a fancy new phone and account plan after three months, and the latest tools and tech to help you nail your job. Getting to grow Lots of opportunities for in-house mentoring, peer-to-peer learning as well as an all-team Te Ao Māori programme, accessibility training and the option to attend external courses and conferences. A kind and inclusive culture that prioritises mental and physical wellbeing, with counselling services available and wellness leave as needed. Not to mention the discounted gym membership, fresh fruit and Fair Trade coffee. Movie nights, running groups, bake offs, table tennis championships, good old fashioned Friday night drinks… and an epic Christmas party come December. There’s always lots on if you’re feeling social. Sweet spaces Cool offices in great locos - Wellington CBD and Auckland CBD - with sit/stand desks, break out spaces and comfy couches. Bike in (we’ve got racks, showers and towels), bring your dog (we love dogs). #J-18808-Ljbffr
