We're seeking an experienced Senior BI Analyst to play a key role in shaping how data, analytics and emerging AI capabilities support decision-making across PGG Wrightson. You'll help transform data into actionable insights that drive commercial performance, operational excellence and strategic outcomes across the business. You'll play a key role in shaping our BI and analytics roadmap, influencing investment and delivery priorities, and helping grow a data-driven culture across the organisation. About the role As a Senior BI Analyst, you'll partner with business leaders and Group Technology to identify opportunities, solve business problems, and deliver insights that drive measurable value across the organisation. You'll provide thought leadership across analytics, reporting, self-service BI and emerging technologies, helping ensure solutions align with PGW's data strategy while increasing analytics maturity across the business. This role also provides leadership within the BI team, supporting the Data and Analytics Manager with work planning, prioritisation, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities Capture and document business and technical BI requirements Deliver insights, analytics and reporting that drive commercial and operational outcomes Identify opportunities, risks and performance trends through data analysis and insight generation Influence and support the BI and Analytics roadmap Increase adoption of self-service analytics and data-informed decision making across the business Provide thought leadership across business intelligence, analytics and emerging data technologies Support prioritisation, delivery planning, and vendor management Lead quality reviews and promote best-practice BI delivery Identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics and AI capabilities to improve business performance and decision-making Build strong relationships across business and technology teams Champion data-driven decision making and promote analytics best practice across the organisation Support with mentoring and development of BI team members About you You're a commercially-minded analytics professional who can connect business challenges with data-driven solutions. You're comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, leading initiatives, and translating complex information into meaningful business outcomes. You'll bring: A degree-level qualification and 7+ years' experience in BI, analytics, or reporting roles Proven experience leading BI and analytics initiatives that deliver measurable business value through data-driven decision making Strong data sourcing, interpretation, and visualisation skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving adoption of new ways of working through data and analytics Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting the development of other team members A collaborative leadership style and a passion for continuous improvement Ideally, you'll also have: Experience with Power BI, Azure Data Services, Copilot or emerging AI-enabled analytics technologies Strong SQL, DAX, or similar data analysis and querying skills Experience working in complex or enterprise-scale BI environments Knowledge of agriculture, supply chain, inventory, or related industries would be advantageous Why work for us PGG Wrightson offers a strong sense of belonging, genuine development opportunities, and the chance to build a meaningful career supporting New Zealand’s rural sector You’ll enjoy a range of staff benefits, including medical insurance discounts, flu vaccinations, and access to our Occupational Counselling Programme (OCP). #J-18808-Ljbffr
