About the Role As a Project Manager / Change Manager Pihi Kaha, you will lead service transformation initiatives that support the planning and delivery of future hospital facilities and models of care across Te Tai Tokerau. Working closely with clinicians, operational leaders, and project teams, you will guide the development of future-state workflows, identify opportunities for service improvement, and ensure change is effectively embedded across teams. This is a unique opportunity to influence one of the region's most significant healthcare developments. You'll be responsible for project planning, stakeholder engagement, change management, benefits realisation, and implementation planning, helping services transition to new ways of working while maintaining a strong focus on patient care, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability. Your ability to bring people together, navigate complex environments, and deliver meaningful change will be key to the success of the Pihi Kaha programme. The Hospital Development team is responsible for supporting the planning and transformation of healthcare services as part of the Pihi Kaha Hospital Development Programme. Working alongside clinicians, service leaders, project specialists, and national stakeholders, the team is helping to design future healthcare environments that will improve outcomes for patients, whānau, and communities across Te Tai Tokerau. Based in Whangārei, this role may involve travel to other sites across Northland as required. For more information on living and working in Northland click here About you As an experienced project and change management professional, you'll thrive in complex environments and enjoy working collaboratively to deliver large-scale transformation initiatives. You will have: At least 2 years' experience in project management, change management, service transformation, or a related field. Proven ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical, operational, and executive leaders. Experience leading change initiatives, developing implementation plans, and supporting teams through transformation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and communication skills, with confidence presenting to diverse audiences. An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori and all communities. Experience working within healthcare, clinical services, infrastructure, or large-scale organisational transformation programmes.
