Jie Deli Ltd is a Christchurch-based hospitality business. We are seeking a Cafe Manager to join us. This is a full-time permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

Main Purpose of the Role \n

To organise and control the overall operation of the café, ensuring efficient service, consistent food and beverage quality, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and compliance with food safety and workplace requirements.

Key Responsibilities \n
    \n
  • Oversee the daily operations of the café, including front-of-house and kitchen service, to ensure efficient and profitable performance.
  • \n
  • Plan menus in consultation with kitchen staff, taking into account customer demand, food costs and business profitability.
  • \n
  • Arrange the purchasing and pricing of food, beverages and other supplies, and monitor stock levels and inventory control.
  • \n
  • Maintain records of sales, stock, operating costs and other financial transactions, and implement appropriate budget and cost-control measures.
  • \n
  • Ensure the café, dining areas, kitchen and service facilities comply with food safety, hygiene, health and workplace requirements.
  • \n
  • Recruit, train, supervise and coordinate kitchen and front-of-house staff, including preparing rosters, allocating duties and monitoring performance.
  • \n
  • Plan and organise special functions, catering services and promotional activities.
  • \n
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, respond to complaints and feedback, maintain service standards, and assist with reservations, greeting customers and taking orders when required.
  • \n
The Successful Candidate Must Have \n
    \n
  • At least two years of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZQF Level 5 qualification or above.
  • \n
  • Good knowledge of customer service, food safety, stock control and staff supervision.
  • \n
  • The ability to monitor operating costs, sales and financial records.
  • \n
  • Strong organisational, time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
  • \n
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • \n
  • The ability to supervise and work effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • \n
  • The ability to work independently in a busy hospitality environment, with a strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
