Site Engineer

Site Engineer HEB Construction Porirua, NZ HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. We are involved with a variety of projects from road construction and maintenance through to earthworks, drainage, marine works, and major projects of national significance. We’re on the lookout for a motivated Site Engineer with bridge construction experience to provide technical support to Project Managers on the Ōtaki to North of Levin (O2NL) project. This role plays a key part in ensuring safety, quality and environmental standards are met, while supporting programming, scheduling, procurement, and coordination with suppliers and subcontractors. You’ll also contribute to developing construction methodologies for bridge and other major structural works across the project. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities Your duties will include, but are not limited to: Contributing to the safe planning and execution of project tasks Supporting the delivery of bridge and structural works in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements, and programme expectations Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders across bridge construction activities Developing inspection and test plans in line with project specifications, and managing compliance including hold points, inspections, and quality records Assisting with procurement of materials and subcontractors, including preparing purchase orders and subcontract agreements Following safe work methodologies and reporting any non-compliance About You You’ll bring: An Engineering Certificate or Bachelor’s degree A valid Full Class 1 driver’s licence Knowledge of bridge construction methodologies, reinforced concrete structures, piling works and quality assurance processes The ability to plan tasks, including allocation of plant, labour and materials Excellent time‑management abilities A collaborative, team‑focused approach What we offer At HEB, you’re not just joining a team, you’re joining a workplace that genuinely looks out for you.
