Volunteer Kitchen Crew: Upcycle Surplus into Meals

Our volunteers work out of our Hub in Avondale hand sorting healthy and nutritious surplus food supplied by our donor organisations to be redistributed to our recipient charities who then go on to make up food parcels for their clients. Any kai that isn’t fit to eat fresh is upcycled in our Conscious Kitchen with the guidance of our Volunteer Coordinator. Our Conscious kitchen operates using second grade produce that our fabulous food sorters have given a second chance. Turning average ingredients into delicious and nutritious meals to be redistributed to our recipient charities. There's always dishes to wash, jars to prep, produce to chop, cooked food to package and plenty to cook or bake, the only requirements are flexibility and ingenuity.
