Permanent Full-Time Position in a leading OEM with long term job security Work alongside a team of experienced mechanics Drive workshop performance and keep our service operation running smoothly The Opportunity: We currently have an opportunity for a Workshop Controller in our busy Wellington Branch. We are looking for someone who is organised and proactive to join our busy service team. This is a key leadership role responsible for coordinating the daily workflow of truck and equipment repairs, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Working closely with technicians, Service Advisors, and the Parts team, you'll play a critical role in maximising workshop productivity while delivering excellent customer outcomes. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring work is allocated effectively, repair progress is monitored, and completed jobs meet quality expectations. Key Responsibilities: Allocate repair and maintenance work to technicians based on skill level and capability, in conjunction with the Team Lead. Manage workflow to maintain a consistent pipeline of work through the workshop. Monitor the progress of repairs and services, ensuring jobs are completed on time. Liaise with Service Advisors and technicians to provide accurate job updates. Flexibility – able to adapt to changing workshop and customer requirements on the fly with an understanding of workload consequences. Conduct final quality checks to ensure all authorised work has been completed to the required standard. Monitor technician productivity, timesheets, and daily workload allocation. Support workshop efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain and enforce workshop health and safety standards. You will bring: Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving. The ability to make informed decisions when unexpected challenges arise. Experience in a workshop, service, automotive, trucking, or heavy equipment environment would be advantageous.
