About the Role We are excited to offer a wonderful opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based in Palmerston North, with some regional coverage required. In this senior clinical nursing role, you will work alongside the access and clinical teams, providing specialised clinical support to colleagues, young people and their whānau accessing specialist mental health services across MidCentral. You will provide wellbeing-focused assessment, intervention and treatment for children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental distress. You will work in partnership with whānau whaiora, whānau, key stakeholders and the wider interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, evidence-based care. This role requires flexibility, resilience, advanced clinical knowledge and a strong commitment to improving access, reducing barriers and supporting equitable outcomes. About you We are looking for an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner who brings advanced clinical expertise, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for working with young people and their families. You will have: Registration as a Nurse Practitioner A current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate Experience and knowledge in child and adolescent mental health Strong assessment, diagnostic, treatment planning and prescribing skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team A current full driver licence and the ability to drive during hours of darkness A commitment to ongoing professional development and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations Knowledge and experience in developmental disorders, complex moderate to severe mental health presentations, psycho-pharmacological interventions and evidence-based CAMHS practice would be highly valued. About the Team/Service The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) provides specialist mental health support for children, young people and their whānau across MidCentral. The team works collaboratively to provide assessment, intervention, treatment and clinical support for young people experiencing mental health difficulties.
