About the role The Rural Adult Community Mental health Servicehas an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist Case Managerwith mental health experience to join their team. The team provides anassessment and treatment service for tāngata whaiora (consumers)experiencing moderate to severe mental health issues and works closelywith their whānau (family) - both in the rural community and alongsideinpatient services. The Rural Team coversbetween Kaikoura to the north and theRakaia River to the south and therewill be travel to these locations. About You We are looking for a professionaland highly motivated Occupational Therapist CaseManager to join our team. This is a generic case management role where you will hold a caseload, however you will have the opportunity to utilise your OTskillssuch as functional performance assessments using OT processes,and cognitive and sensory performance componentswhere agreed to in the MDT. To be successful in ourteam you will display a positive attitude and enthusiasm for this area of work,you will enjoy being part of a committed and diverse multi-disciplinary teamand work in collaboration with a group ofprofessionals that recognises the importance of providing quality care andservices to Whaiora, and whānau. Interacting with a variety of stakeholders,you will have an ability to effectively manage and prioritise assessments,formulations and interventions in the community. We have arespectful team culture, you will have the ability to work well together withinthe team. It is essential that you have the ability to think on yourfeet, triage and prioritise tāngata whaiora's needs appropriately, and ina timely manner. You will work alongside tāngata whaiora who you willproactively engage with and support to engage with their treatmentandother holistic supports. Highly developed risk assessment is important as is your ability to develop effective rapport with people who may be mentallyunwell or distressed. A minimum of 2 year' experience in amental health setting is preferable.
