About the Role The Group Manager Integration leads the team responsible for designing and implementing local system and service re-design solutions within a sub-region. The Group Manager is responsible for procurement and management of subregional and local primary and community care services, and will partner with IMPBs, health providers, wider social sector funders and providers, and relevant local Health NZ leadership. The Group Manager will lead the implementation of national design systems and regional planning and commissioning approaches in a way that seeks to respond to the health needs of our communities, achieve equity across population groups, are efficient and improve Māori health equity. About the Team and Location The Planning, Funding & Outcomes team leads the planning, commissioning, and continuous improvement of health services across Te Waipounamu. We work in partnership with local communities, Māori, Pacific providers, clinicians, and health sector organisations to ensure services are integrated, equitable, and responsive to changing community needs About you You are a dynamic and experienced leader with a deep understanding of commissioning and procuring health services, and a strong track record of guiding high-performing, engaged teams in complex and fast-paced environments. Your leadership style fosters collaboration, accountability, and a shared focus on delivering high-quality outcomes. You bring a deep understanding of organisational performance, underpinned by strong financial literacy and demonstrated experience in budget development, management, and monitoring. Skilled at building and sustaining trusted relationships, you work confidently across all levels of an organisation and with external stakeholders. You are a compelling communicator, able to translate complex information into clear, meaningful insights tailored to diverse audiences - including senior leadership, Boards, and Ministers. Strategic, pragmatic and people-focused, you thrive in roles that demand both big-picture thinking and operational delivery. You will bring: Extensive senior leadership experience (15+ years) in health, commissioning, planning, funding, or a similarly complex environment. Demonstrated success leading system and service redesign, commissioning, and integration programmes. Experience managing high-performing multidisciplinary teams and developing leadership capability. Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across Māori, Pacific communities, providers, government agencies, and the wider health sector. Proven financial management experience, including budget development, monitoring, procurement, and contract management. Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate complexity and drive change. A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, health equity, and improving outcomes for Māori, Pacific peoples, and other priority populations. A relevant tertiary or professional qualification, along with outstanding communication, influencing, and relationship management skills.
