Taranaki Rugby Football Union and Taranaki Rugby Referees Associasion are seeking a Referee Development Leader to play a pivotal role in growing and strengthening our referee community. Working closely with the Taranaki Rugby Referees Association (TRRA), Community Rugby Manager and New Zealand Rugby, you will lead initiatives to recruit, develop, support and retain referees across the region. This is a rewarding opportunity to help shape the future of refereeing in Taranaki by delivering education programmes, supporting referee appointments, coordinating coaching and development opportunities, and creating clear pathways for referees at every stage of their journey. You'll also play a key role in encouraging greater participation from women and girls and fostering a positive, inclusive and connected referee community. Recruitment and Retention 1. Establish and deliver a referee recruitment programme and/or development activity intended to recruit, develop and retain referees. 2. Ensure deliberate and intentional time, resource and delivery focus on referee recruitment and development to grow, develop and retain female referees. This may require disproportionately high investment in resources. 3. Celebrate, recognise and retain referees and referee coaches, including through regional volunteer systems and development incentives. 4. Develop and implement an induction programme with relevant information for all new referees. Training and Development 1. Prepare an appropriate programme of T&D meetings, arranging content schedules and presenters in conjunction with TRRA. Then to implement and run all T&D meetings working in with presenters of specific topics, SAB and TRRA Executive. 2. Create clear entry pathways for all new referees, including former players, school-leavers, women and girls. 3. Deliver the national recruitment and development resources programme and the RX-based referee reporting, registration and appointment system. 4. Deliver the national referee education framework including referee development programmes or workshops utilising NZR developed training and education resources including compulsory modules and CRRDF resources. 5. Ensure targeted ang agreed development of referees at all levels through collaboration with TRRA. Appointments 1. Prepare schedules of referee appointments to matches, based on instructions from the TRRA Appointments Officer and the TRRA Senior Appointment Board (SAB). 2. Work with schools and clubs to ensure adequate referee coverage for games. Coaching of Referees 1. In addition to weekly TRRA meetings, coordinate and deliver coaching workshops, practical sessions and on-the-ground support to meet TRRA needs. 2. Plan appropriate sessions to ensure that all referees have completed law exams and fitness tests in line with their development plans 3. Encourage and ensure as far as possible all referee coaches have completed the Intro to coaching programme, law test, the Reviewer Course and annual refresher courses. Communication 1. Consistent communication between NZR, TRFU and TRRA. 2. Appropriate communication with all TRRA members over all matters. 3. Appropriate publicity for TRRA and monitoring TRRA website and social media to ensure maximum publicity. #J-18808-Ljbffr
