If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) as a Business Support Assistant at Government House in Wellington. About the Role New Zealand's Government Houses are national taonga - historic residences that support the Governor-General in their constitutional, ceremonial, and community leadership roles. The Government House team provides support to the Governor-General, while ensuring the Houses and their grounds are maintained to the highest standards. As theBusiness Support Administrator, you will be at the heart of Government House operations, serving as the welcoming face for staff, visitors, and contractors while also handling public enquiries with professionalism and care. In this dynamic role, you will ensure the seamless functioning of day-to-day activities, from managing front desk security and health and safety to providing essential administrative support to the Facilities and Asset Management team. Your contribution will be integral to maintaining the reputation and efficiency of Government House, creating a positive and secure environment for all. In this role, you will: Be the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and contractors, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment. Work closely with the Police and Government House staff to maintain a secure environment, including managing visitor logs and security access cards. Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including courier services and in-house mail runs. Coordinate and order office supplies, and manage bookings for staff travel, cars, flights, and accommodation. Produce congratulatory cards and letters for significant milestones and achievements. Support the administration of Government House assets, including vehicles, flags, and outdoor equipment. Act as the Health and Safety Officer, ensuring a safe and secure workplace. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including IT support, contractors, and service providers.
