Job Description

Crescent Recruitment – Queenstown, South Island A well-established South Island organisation is preparing for a significant software replacement project across a complex, multi-site operational environment. This is a practical, people-facing contract role suited to someone who can combine strong business analysis capability with genuine change management experience. The project involves replacing an end-of-life system used across a range of customer-facing facilities and operational teams. The system supports workflows including bookings, memberships, payments, direct debits, retail/POS, customer check-in, scheduling, and related operational processes. The replacement platform is currently going through procurement, with implementation expected to begin later this year and run through to go-live and hypercare next year. This role will suit a BA, change manager, implementation consultant, or hybrid BA/change specialist who is comfortable getting into the detail of requirements, configuration, process mapping, stakeholder engagement, training, and adoption. The user group is highly operational, busy, and not especially technical, so you will need to be able to bring people along without overcomplicating the process. This is not a role for someone who wants to sit at arm’s length from the business. It needs someone practical, calm, clear, and confident working directly with end users. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, an on-site SME, the project manager, and the successful software vendor to help ensure the new system is properly configured, understood, adopted, and embedded across the business. What you’ll be doing Gathering and documenting business requirements across multiple operational teams Mapping current and future-state processes Supporting system configuration and implementation planning Working closely with the vendor and internal subject matter experts Leading or heavily supporting change management activity Coordinating training, user engagement, and adoption planning Supporting UAT, go-live readiness, and hypercare Building trust with busy operational users and keeping things practical Translating business needs into workable system and process outcomes What we’re looking for You may come from a business analysis, change management, implementation consulting, or hybrid BA/change background. The key requirement is that you can operate confidently in a real-world operational environment where users are time-poor and need clear, practical support. You’ll ideally bring: Strong business analysis experience on software implementation or systems replacement projects Change management experience, particularly with non-technical or operational user groups Experience working with vendors or third-party implementation partners Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills Confidence running workshops, gathering requirements, and supporting training Experience with UAT, go-live readiness, and post-go-live support A pragmatic, flexible approach and willingness to step outside a narrow job description when needed Experience with booking, membership, payment, POS, recreation, facilities, ERP-style, or operational platforms would be useful, but is not essential This is an hourly-rate contract opportunity expected to start around September/October and run through to approximately July next year. Remote work can be considered, but some planned travel to regional South Island sites will be required at key stages of the project, particularly around stakeholder engagement, go-live, and hypercare. Travel would be planned in advance. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys practical delivery, stakeholder-facing work, and helping operational teams navigate meaningful system change. #J-18808-Ljbffr
