We work with a range of partners in local and central Government, public and private sector agencies and community groups to advise on delivering effective and efficient disability support now and in the future. As the Whānau Support Facilitator, you are responsible for providing support to people with disabilities, and their whānau, to live independent lives. You will do this by developing and maintaining effective and successful relationships with them and their support network and co-creating plans for achieving the outcomes that are important to them. You will lead a team of Support Workers to deliver successful outcomes against those agreed plans. To be successful in this role you will thrive a customer-centric environment. You'll be a natural communicator with a real drive to connect, promote and engage across a number of different stakeholders. You'll get a kick out of listening and understanding people with a solution focused approach. this is a full time permanent position working Monday to Friday and based in the Auckland region. Responsibilities include: Applying the Enabling Good Lives philosophy and principles to the provision of services that you lead Building and maintaining an engaged, cohesive and high performing team across the services you lead Meeting with the person we support and their whānau to understand their life, ambitions, and expectations of their support and services to be provided Negotiating the details of the support plan - the who, what, where, how and why - with the person we support and their whānau in a way that balances the organisation's constraints with the requirements and expectations of the person we support Ensuring robust service agreements, that balance people's goals & needs with organisational risk, are in place for all support arrangements. Working collaboratively with the Service Centre to ensure rostering requirements from the support plans, including capability required, meet the needs of each person we support and their family/whanau Proven experience working within disability, mental health or education with a good understanding of the sector Strong communication skills, including written communications, with the ability to adapt for different stakeholders Leadership experience, a passion and expertise for developing skills in others Proven ability to work with people with intellectual disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder(FASD), ideally with some practical experience in working with those who display behaviour others' find challenging Understanding of the enabling good lives principles Impeccable time management and administrative abilities - experience of rostering and/or budget management experience an advantage A professional, passionate attitude and you value constant training, guidance and teamwork A full, clean NZ drivers' licence Why Us | He aha ai matou?
