The Role An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Surfacing Project Engineer or Project Manager to take the lead on various projects across the Hawkes Bay region. Reporting into senior regional leadership, you will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and commercial performance of surfacing operations across a diverse range of projects and clients. You'll lead an experienced team, coordinate resources, manage project delivery, and ensure high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction are consistently achieved. This role offers genuine autonomy and the opportunity to make a significant impact on operational performance, team culture, and client relationships while contributing to the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Include Leading people, and have a strong health and safety focus Managing programme planning, resource allocation, and project delivery Overseeing pricing, claims, reporting, and commercial performance Coordinating crews, plant, materials, subcontractors, and project resources Building and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships Driving operational excellence, productivity, and continuous improvement Supporting and developing a high-performing team culture Role Requirements To be successful in this position, you will need to be happy to relocate to the region and have: Bachelor of Civil Engineering or an equivalent recognised tertiary qualification Minimum 5 years' experience within the civil construction industry At least 2 years' experience in a leadership or management capacity Strong commercial, operational, and financial management capability Experience delivering surfacing, roading, or related infrastructure projects Excellent people leadership and stakeholder management skills A practical, hands-on leadership style with a strong commitment to safety What's in it for You?
