Cultural Case Worker Community Child Health (West Team) Permanent, full time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours per fortnight) Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders. About the Role We are looking for a full time Cultural Case Worker (CCW) to join our Community Child Health Team based at Waitakere Hospital. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team who are dedicated to working with children and their families, and will be supported by your CCW peers, team leader and other relevant roles. As a Cultural Case Worker you will be supporting the Child Health teams in the provision of culturally appropriate services for children and families from refugee and culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. You will work collaboratively with your multi-disciplinary colleagues to support families to access and navigate appropriate health services in order to achieve the best outcomes for their child. Whilst this role is primarily based at Waitakere Hospital, you will provide a service to the Child Health inpatient wards and undertake visits in the community dependent on the needs of each family. Travel across the north and west communities, and Child Health sites is expected. Our Community Child Health Team is made up of dedicated allied health and nursing clinicians who share a passion for supporting children and their whanau who are faced with various health and disability challenges to live their best lives at home. Working in collaboration and in partnership with our whanau is central to our work, as is the drive to be strengths based. We have a hard-working team, that are closely connected - supporting each other on a daily basis -anda team who also enjoy bringing a sense of fun to their work environment. We maintain close working relationships across our inpatient paediatric areas and our community based Child Health services. About you For this role you will need to have a full NZ drivers licence and a minimum of two years work experience in the community, disability or health sectors working cross-culturally with families from refugee and CALD backgrounds. Experience in networking with relevant organisations and agencies is required, as is a competent level of computer skills. A qualification in Health or Disability is not necessarily required, but would be an advantage.
