Aboutthe Role We are looking for a registered nurse withinitiative and enthusiasm looking to take the next step in your career. Ideally, you will have relevant experience tobuild on - this could be from working in gastroenterology, or strong medical,surgical, emergency or theatre experience.This role would suit someone with good communication and assessmentskills who is interested in technical endoscopic procedures, and who findssatisfaction in enhancing an individual patient experience. We will provideappropriate training to ensure you can function effectively in your new role. Ourteam of registered nurses perform comprehensive preassessments, provide advicewhen preparing patients for examinations, and assist with endoscopy proceduresand monitor patients recovering from sedation. Oncefully trained there is also an on call component to all endoscopy nurses About theTeam/Service Location Ourgastroenterology department provides regional and tertiary services for mostaspects of gastroenterology. There is a strong nursing focus on endoscopy andinterventional procedures for both adults and, periodically, children ininpatient and outpatient services. Wealso offer the opportunity to work across 2 sites - our main site inWellington, and periodically our bowel screening endoscopy service based out atKenepuru. About you Experience in gastroenterology, endoscopy orperioperative nursing is helpful but not essential. 1 year post grad nursing experience NZNC registration Current APC The legal right to work in New Zealand.
