Product Development Specialist - Nutritionals (Dry Blending) Westland Milk Products, part of Yili Oceania, is looking for a Product Development Specialist - Nutritionals to support the development of dry-blended nutritional powders across adult, performance, paediatric, wellness and meal replacement categories. This technical and commercially focused role covers product innovation, customer application support, specification development and hands-on dry blending trials from concept through to commercialisation. About the role Reporting to the Head of Innovation - Nutritionals, you will help deliver dry-blended nutritional powder projects and act as a technical interface for customers and internal teams. You will lead lab, pilot and commercial-scale trials, translate customer needs into workable specifications, and solve application challenges across powder performance, reconstitution, flowability, stability, sensory outcomes and shelf life. This is a chance to apply deep technical knowledge in dairy proteins, premixes, flavour systems, instantising agents, anti-caking systems, dry blending and packaging in a role with real commercial impact. What you'll be doing Manage innovation projects across planning, documentation, stakeholders, timelines and budgets. Plan and coordinate dry blending trials, including uniformity, bulk density, flowability, particle size and micronutrient recovery. Work with customers and commercial teams to translate application needs into product specifications. Develop customer-facing technical documents, including data sheets, guides, FAQs and technical bulletins. Support formulation, regulatory and quality requirements across innovation and customer projects. Provide technical expertise across dry blending, dairy protein functionality, premix systems, instantising, agglomeration and packaging. Collaborate with internal teams, customers, suppliers, flavour houses, packaging vendors and technical partners. About you You'll bring strong technical depth in food technology, nutritionals, dairy ingredients or dry-blended powder systems, along with the confidence to work with customers and cross-functional teams. To be successful, you will have: Strong knowledge of dry blending, including uniformity, segregation control, particle size, bulk density and flowability. Experience with specifications, application trials and technical problem-solving in B2B nutrition or dairy ingredients. Strong communication, report writing, project management and customer presentation skills. A strong commitment to food safety, quality, allergen control and traceability. Experience in infant, adult, sports or healthy-ageing nutrition, customer technical support or applications development would be highly regarded.
