About the Role The Cardiac Ultrasound Department is inviting applications for a Trainee Cardiac Sonographer to join our team. Cardiovascular services provide care to a local and national population for interventional cardiology, electrophysiology and arrhythmia management, heart failure and adult congenital heart disease. We support this with a commitment to our staff of developing your skills and knowledge This role has elements of clinical instruction/practice and self-directed theoretical study by sitting the Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound run by University of Auckland (UoA). About the Team/Service/Location The position is primarily based at Auckland City Hospital, an 1165 bed teaching hospital.Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand is set in a pristine marine-based environment with a temperate climate and has a population of 1.5 million. You must also demonstrate the ability and maturity to work in stressful situations. Excellent communication is essential, as well as the ability to work equally well as part of a team or solo. You will be required to obtain registration as a trainee sonographer with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board mrtboard.org.nz Please note: Duration of the UoA programme is 2 years.
