We're looking for an organised, customer-focused professional to join our Planning and Consents Support Team within the Planning and Consents Unit. About the role | Ko te mahi nei We're looking for an organised, customer-focused professional to join our Planning and Consents Support Team within the Planning and Consents Unit. As a Resource Consents Support Officer, you will provide end-to-end administrative and operational support throughout the resource consent process, working alongside planners, technical specialists and customers to help ensure applications are processed accurately, efficiently and within statutory timeframes. You'll play an important role in supporting development across Christchurch by coordinating a wide range of administrative and operational processes, maintaining accurate records, invoicing, responding to customer enquiries and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment where attention to detail, sound judgement and excellent organisation are essential We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of their work and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll bring: Relevant qualification or equivalent experience in administration, business support, local government or a similar complex working environment. Experience managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Strong organisational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain processes clearly to customers and colleagues. Excellent numerical skills Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment. Well-developed problem-solving skills and the initiative to identify opportunities for improvement. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to quickly learn specialist business systems. A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and building positive working relationships. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
