Catering Assistant - Elizabeth Knox Kitchen, Auckland 40 hours per week Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:30am - 7:00pm Saturday, Sunday: 6:00am - 2:30pm Are you a team player who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment and making a difference through great food and service? An exciting opportunity has become available at Elizabeth Knox Home & Hospital, one of our largest aged care kitchens, located in Epsom. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Catering Assistant to join our dedicated team. Working alongside the Chef Manager and kitchen team, you will help prepare and serve nutritious meals to up to 260 residents each day. This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same, and you'll play an important part in creating a positive dining experience for our residents. What you'll be doing Assisting with food preparation and meal service Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment Washing dishes and supporting general kitchen operations Following food safety and hygiene standards Working safely with commercial kitchen equipment, hot trays, and large pots Supporting the team wherever needed to ensure smooth daily operations We're seeking someone who Has a positive, friendly, and can-do attitude Enjoys working as part of a team Is reliable, flexible, and willing to get stuck in Can follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Has good time management and organisational skills Is comfortable working independently when required Understands, or is willing to learn, New Zealand food safety requirements Demonstrates respect, compassion, and care when working within an aged care environment Who we are Cater Plus is one of New Zealand's leading catering companies with over 750 team members nationwide.
