Senior Accountant - fixed term

Our Finance team play a big part in keeping our growing global business running smoothly. With multiple entities, systems, and plenty of moving parts, there’s always something interesting to get stuck into. This opportunity has been created to backfill a key team member who is moving into a critical ERP project, ensuring our finance team continues to deliver high-quality support across an 18‑month period. In this role you will join a tight knit team and get involved across the full financial accounting cycle — from month-end and reporting through to consolidations, tax compliance, and improving the way we do things. You’ll work with finance colleagues and stakeholders across our global business, helping make sense of the numbers and ensuring we have the right information at the right time. We’re looking for someone who enjoys digging and finding solutions when things don’t quite add up. Key Responsibilities Support month-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements Perform and review group consolidations and intercompany eliminations Prepare clear, insightful financial commentary for month-end and stakeholder reporting Support NZ tax compliance, with awareness of global entity considerations Identify, investigate, and resolve financial discrepancies and issuesReview and improve finance processes, driving efficiency and simplification Manage data integrity across systems, including imports/exports and reconciliations Engage with global stakeholders to gather, validate, and challenge financial information Support audit requirements and ensure audit readiness About You CA qualified (or equivalent), ideally trained within a Big 4 / Top Tier accounting firm and/or 2–3 years’ experience in a commercial environment Strong technical accounting capability, including consolidations and audit exposure Experience working in complex, multi-entity organisations Intermediate Excel skills Highly detail-focused with strong analytical capability A proactive problem solver who takes ownership and follows through Confident communicator — able to engage, question, and collaborate effectively Resilient, pragmatic, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment Why ZIWI?
