You'll play a key role in overseeing our solar operations from design through to installation, ensuring every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. About the Role As our Solar Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for leading our solar team, managing day-to-day operations, designing high-quality solar systems, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. You'll work closely with our sales, administration, and installation teams to deliver an outstanding experience for our customers. What You'll Be Doing Leading and managing our solar installation team. Designing residential and commercial solar systems using OpenSolar (or similar software). Reviewing quotations and system designs for accuracy and compliance. Scheduling installations and managing project timelines. Providing technical support to installers and apprentices. Maintaining high standards of health and safety across all projects. Ensuring all installations comply with New Zealand electrical standards and industry best practices. Managing stock levels and coordinating equipment requirements. Working with suppliers, networks, and stakeholders where required. Driving continuous improvement within the solar division. What We’re Looking For We're looking for someone with strong, proven solar experience who can confidently design and install systems and lead and manage a team. Current NZ Registered Electrician with a valid practising licence Proven hands-on experience installing solar systems Previous leadership or management experience, with the ability to confidently run a team Strong understanding of New Zealand electrical regulations and solar industry standards Experience using OpenSolar or a similar design platform Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills Full New Zealand Driver Licence Bonus Points If You Have Commercial solar project experience Battery storage installation experience Experience with inverter commissioning and monitoring platforms A passion for mentoring and developing installers and apprentices CEC or other recognised solar industry training or certifications Why Join Bo and Co Electrical?
