About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified General Surgeon to join our General Surgery & Trauma Service at Te Toka Tumai Auckland. You will be part of a dedicated surgical team, providing acute general surgical services across the Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) and Trauma Service. You will also contribute to the team's clinical, research, and teaching activities. Based in the heart of Auckland, you will work within the Department of General Surgery & Trauma at Auckland City Hospital, with support across Greenlane Clinical Centre when required. Te Toka Tumai Auckland is a major tertiary teaching hospital, providing both secondary and tertiary services in partnership with the University of Auckland. This is a fixed term one-year position with participation in the on-call roster. Applicants must have completed specialist surgical training equivalent to FRACS in General Surgery with postgraduate fellowship training. You will have experience managing acute general surgical conditions and a commitment to research, audit, and quality improvement. As an ideal candidate, you should have Completed a General Surgery Fellowship training programme recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent Relevant post-graduate training and experience in Emergency General Surgery in an approved training program.
