Weekend Hospice Housekeeper - Create a Welcoming Space

Make a Difference in Your Community with Arohanui Hospice Arohanui Hospice provides specialist palliative care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and whānau, across the Manawatū, Tararua, Horowhenua, Rangitikei and Taihape regions. Our dedicated volunteers play a vital role in helping us provide these services free of charge to the community. Volunteer Weekend Housekeeper - Palmerston North We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated volunteer to join our Housekeeping Team twice a month on Sundays from 9:00am to 11:00am . This rewarding role helps ensure our hospice remains a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for patients, families, visitors, and staff. Tasks include dusting, vacuuming, and general cleaning duties as required. As this is a weekend position, volunteers need to be comfortable working independently , following written instructions, and liaising with nursing staff who oversee the building on weekends. We're looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work, and is committed to communicating with us if they are unable to attend a scheduled shift. Previous cleaning experience is beneficial but not essential. Volunteers based at our Heretaunga Street site will need to be comfortable undergoing a Ministry of Justice check and working within a hospice environment. Full training will be provided by our Housekeeping Team Leader before you begin, and ongoing support will be available whenever needed. Occasional weekday availability for training sessions or shift cover would be greatly appreciated.
