About the Role We have a permanent part-time opportunity within our Southern team for a Nurse Practitioner, Sexual Health. You will practise independently and in collaboration with other health professionals, perform Nurse Practitioner functions, delegate to and direct nurses, healthcare assistants and others. You will provide comprehensive assessments to develop, implement and evaluate an integrated plan of health care, and will learn to provide interventions that require substantial scientific and professional knowledge, skills and clinical decision making. About you As a successful candidate, you will show and understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and will be skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role. You will build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and model an agile approach - try new approaches, learn quickly, and adapt fast. You will be able to provide expert clinical knowledge, skills and professional leadership within nursing. Specific training in Sexual Health will be included in the role. You will work in partnership both clinically and professionally with senior clinical staff in sexual health and related specialties to promote health, prevent disease, diagnose, assess and manage people's health needs. A relevant graduate and post graduate qualification Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action Registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing Council of New Zealand Hold a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate Current driver's license with a clean driving record Current registration with NZNC as a Nurse Practitioner or in a NP Internship currently, and interest in the specialty of sexual health Advanced communication techniques such as conflict resolution, diffusion, and mediation skills Demonstrate professional accountability within scope of practice Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
