We’re looking for an experienced mechanical Maintenance Planner to prepare clear, practical work packages that enable maintenance teams to complete work safely and efficiently. You’ll define the scope, resources, materials, equipment and estimated downtime required, while making sure health, safety and environmental risks are understood and managed. This is a site-based role at our Aratiatia Hydro Station (close to Taupo) working closely with maintenance, operations, engineering and procurement teams across our generation business. Tāu e mahi ai | What you’ll be doing You’ll turn maintenance requirements into well-sequenced, execution-ready work packages. This includes: Defining work scopes, labour requirements and equipment downtime Identifying the materials, tooling, equipment and skills required Developing work instructions and incorporating relevant safety controls Bringing together procedures, drawings, technical information and checklists Providing planning inputs that support effective maintenance scheduling Preparing accurate estimates and identifying cost-saving opportunities Completing post-work administration and improving maintenance data Developing reusable job plans within Maximo Using work management information to identify improvement opportunities Building effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers and service providers The role does not have direct reports and is focused on hands-on planning, coordination and continuous improvement. You’ll have strong practical maintenance knowledge and understand what teams need before work can begin safely and successfully. We’re looking for: A maintenance trade qualification or equivalent maintenance engineering experience More than 10 years’ relevant maintenance experience Strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling Demonstrated experience using a computerised maintenance management system, ideally Maximo A sound understanding of asset management and maintenance fundamentals The ability to develop accurate, detailed and practical work plans Strong communication and relationship-building skills Experience with hydro or geothermal power station assets would be valuable but is not essential. This is a safety-sensitive position.
