Whitireia & WelTec’s vision(Whakakitenga) is: About the role | Te Kaupapa Whitireia and WelTec areseeking a Tutor to join the Bachelor of Social Work Programme Team. The position is based at thePorirua campus and will provide the successful applicant with an opportunity tobe part of a committed team who prepare ākonga to practice professionallyaccording to the values and ethics of the Social Workers Registration Board andthe Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers. On completion ofthe programme, ākonga will be eligible to apply for SWRB registration. The successful applicant willhave the ability and experience to prepare ākonga to work in the fields offamily violence, care and protection, policy, and support work promotingwell-being and community development. We’re looking for a Social Workeducator with teaching experience at a degree level. The position isbased in Porirua. The successful applicantmust possess the following: Aqualification at least one level higher than the programme being taught Currentor eligibility to register with SWRB. Teachingexperience in Social Work, or in a relevant field at tertiary level. Evidenceof an ability to work with ākonga and kaimahi from differing academic andcultural backgrounds and at all levels of the institution. Currentknowing of different practice skills and approaches including Māori andPacific, social work research and policy, SWRB competencies, ANZASW Ethicsand Te Tiriti ō Waitangi practice. Practiceexperience as a Social Worker and Educator, is able to work individuallyand be a team player. Theability to contribute to the teaching and development of the programme. Anadult teaching qualification is preferred. Workingknowledge of Education ICT systems (Moodle, Artena, APlus+) or similar orthe ability to quickly adapt to these types of systems a must.
