The Company operates New Zealand’s largest sawmill and is a well-established and successful business, employing over 400 staff & contractors. An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Maintenance Coordinator to join our Maintenance team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this is a leadership position to apply sound mechanical maintenance process knowledge and lead our experienced Maintenance Team. The team provides critical support to ensure plant and machinery is maintained effectively, ensuring reliability to run production shifts across the manufacturing plant. To be successful you will: Hold a NZ recognised Trade qualification, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Have 7+ years of recent work experience in a heavy industrial plant Be experienced in leading large teams and contractors Be knowledgeable about maintenance management systems and practices and demonstrate first‑hand experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, materials handling, high speed processing equipment, etc. Be competent interpreting mechanical and hydraulic drawings and P&ID’s, and be focused on the delivery of reliable and high quality work. The ability to work, lead and be a team player. Demonstrate an essential “Safety First” attitude. Previous experience with timber processing plant would be advantageous. Hours of work for this position are nominally, Monday – Friday, 7.00am – 3.30pm with 30 minute unpaid lunch break , with additional hours if required. Areas of site run 24/7 requiring flexibility of working hours from time to time including during the December-January maintenance shut.
