About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Auckland's motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. The Opportunity We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to make their mark on a meaningful large-scale road maintenance contract. As our Senior Quantity Surveyor, your primary objective will be the development and management of project life cycle costs and optimising project budgets. You will develop strong relationships with our delivery team, providing them with comprehensive support in procurement, cost controls, budget management and cost recovery tasks. You will have a variety of responsibilities that will have a direct positive impact on our organisation. These will include: Leading and continuously improving ASM’s procurement and commercial practices. Managing supplier, subcontractor, and resource procurement, ensuring compliance and robust documentation. Providing commercial and contractual advice, training, and support to delivery teams. Driving financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cost recovery across the business. Monitoring financial performance and risks, and providing reporting and insights to NZTA, senior leadership, and the Board. Mentoring direct reports and building financial and commercial capability across ASM. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in our ASM Ellerslie Office. Strong communication and people skills are a must for this role, as you will be working in a collaborative office environment. About You: Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, experience and skills: Minimum of 7 years of relevant NZ construction experience Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction related subject A keen interest in developing and maintaining clear and standardised processes. Use of Excel and other Microsoft applications. Above all, you must have excellent organisational skills to ensure records and processes are being effectively maintained. You must have a keen knowledge and interest in the life cycle of our commercial management projects, with an eagerness to actively seek improvement opportunities for the ASM.
