If so, this role could be for you! We have a great opportunity to join our site based Hydro team, along the Waikato River working across 9 different stations spanning from Taupo through to Cambridge. You'll be joining a highly motivated team of approximately 60 people that maintains, operates, manages and continuously improves our renewable hydro generation assets. We are looking for a Site Mechanical Engineer who will provide technical mechanical engineering support to the maintenance and production teams to ensure high availability by working through existing and future mechanical projects. You'll also support the maintenance team for day to day mechanical challenges and ensure site complies with relevant legislations, policies and standards. The Mechanical Engineer is a key link to the wider engineering team. This role is site based and has flexibility about which of the stations you will cover, so this role can accommodate people from Taupo or Rotorua. This will be achieved by: Assist with development and implementation of a long-term assets management plan which includes safety projects, enhancement opportunities and addressing assets degradation risks. Understand plant performance and support to solutions to maintain optimum availability and capacity factor in the long term. Help deliver a healthy portfolio of projects (Opex/Capex) for the site. Strong experience managing significant engineering or technical projects in a heavy industry environment including Plant / process design, HAZOPs and commissioning. Experience in electricity generation is preferable: Hydro &/or heavy industry experience would beneficial.
