Clinical Nurse Specialist - Health of Older Persons (Community) Location : Based at Hutt Hospital working in Hutt Valley community Contract : Permanent, Part Time (0.8 FTE / 32 hours per week) Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is dedicated to serving all New Zealanders. About the Role This part-time (32 hours per week) CNS role sits within our large and friendly Community Older Persons, Rehabilitation and Allied Health team (Te Herenga Tangata). We have two Senior Nursing positions in the team and are recruiting to both. This 0.8FTE permanent position is the first. The CNS is an important team member, providing advice and taking referrals from Geriatricians, Allied Health colleagues, District Nurses, inpatient areas, and a range of Community providers. We are looking for someone who will use critical appraisal in practice, continuing to develop your own practice and helping improve the ways in which we help people remain well and stable in their home environment. The role is a great opportunity for someone interested in furthering a career in the area of Health of Older Persons nursing, potentially through to a Nurse Practitioner role, and we are interested in a CNS qualified/working towards a prescribing qualification. We need someone who is happy to work in an inter-professional way with allied health colleagues and, as this is a community based role, you will be networking and building relationships with Aged Residential homes and a wide range of Community agencies. You will find professional support from the ADON Community and Primary care, our wider Senior Nursing team here at Hutt and also across the Community Older Adult, Allied Health teams in the Capital Coast area. About you You will hold or be prepared to work towards a prescribing qualification. Experience in Community based practice would be an advantage. You'll need energy, a sense of humour and appreciate the joys of working in a large, inclusive and diverse Inter-professional team!
