About the Role The General Surgery& Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU) has an exciting opportunity for aRegistered Nurse to join the team. The serviceoperates Monday to Sunday across all shifts - Morning, Afternoons and Nights. About the Service Our team providescare for our acute general surgery patients, undergoing general surgicalprocedures within the ward environment and high dependency surgical patients inour 8 bed Surgical Progressive Care Unit. We are a Dedicated Education Unit forstaff wanting to be involved in the development of student nurses. About You We are looking foran energetic nurse who is eager to strengthen and develop their skills. Ideallyyou will be an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about AcuteGeneral Surgery and Progressive Care and can work collaboratively with thewider multidisciplinary team to ensure high standards of care and improvedpatient outcomes are attained. Working in ourlarge multidisciplinary team will enable you to work closely with and learnfrom our Surgeons, Nurse Educator and Clinical Nurse Specialist, who are allexperts in their specialties and who are focused on advances in surgical carethat improve clinical outcomes. Recent acute surgical or medical experience Ability to work all shifts - Morning, Afternoon and Nights Commitment to providing and maintaining high standards of nursingpractice within our service is essential Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability toengage well Excellent organisational and time management skills with theableness to effectively and efficiently complete tasks You will have effective problem solving and decision-making skills Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with a currentAnnual Practising Certificate (APC) Working atHealth New Zealand Health New Zealand| Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people ofNew Zealand.
