ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a motivated intern to join our Quality Engineering team in Auckland. Your primary focus will be to reduce 70% of the Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) caused by external suppliers and raised by production, by developing work instructions for inspections according to non-conformance investigations and production requirements.

This is an opportunity to work on real space technology projects and contribute to missions that are literally reaching for the stars.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Data analysis for Non-Conformances and identifying priorities
  • Defect type investigation and root cause analysis about the escape of the issues to production
  • Work Instructions development as part of corrective actions, tracking NCRs trends and progress
  • Collaborate with production teams and suppliers to address quality issues
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute innovative ideas
  • Support quality assurance activities across the organization

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

MUST HAVE:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Microsoft applications knowledge such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Basic drawing interpretation and measurement equipment knowledge such as vernier, micrometre, and gauges
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Passion for aerospace, space technology, and innovation

NICE TO HAVE:

  • GD&T interpretation
  • Understanding of problem-solving tools
  • Understanding of machining parts or electronic parts quality requirements
  • Previous internship or project experience in quality engineering or manufacturing
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies
