The business has grown significantly in recent years and is now investing seriously in strengthening its commercial and procurement capability as part of a longer-term plan. The Role Reporting to the COO, you will lead the uplift of the business’s procurement capability, spanning governance, category management, supplier and contract management, and digital enablement. The role also brings commercial and procurement oversight to property-related contracts and supplier arrangements, working alongside Facilities, Legal, and Finance. This is a standalone role to start, with real scope to shape how the function is built. Key Responsibilities Lead procurement transformation and design a fit-for-purpose operating model across the group Build a category management framework across a varied, multi-category spend base Develop and embed procurement policy, governance standards, and supporting controls Drive digital procurement uplift, including contract management systems and spend analytics Lead supplier and sub-consultant selection, negotiation, and performance management Build procurement and commercial capability across the wider business through coaching and influence Key Skills & Experience Required Proven experience leading procurement transformation, operating model design, or function uplift in a complex organisation Strong category management experience across a multi-category spend portfolio Experience improving contract management systems and digital procurement tools Confidence building spend visibility and reporting from the ground up Experience in a complex, multi-business environment is a plus but not essential Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the resilience to bring people along through change What’s In It For You This is a rare chance to build a procurement function from the ground up, with the backing and visibility that comes from reporting directly to the COO. You will have genuine autonomy to shape the operating model your way, backed by a business that is serious about investing in the function long term.
