The opportunity: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced risk and compliance professional to play a key role in strengthening our governance framework and regulatory compliance across the business. Working closely with senior leaders, you will lead the monitoring and interpretation of regulatory change, assess business impacts, and drive the implementation of policies, frameworks and controls that ensure Instant Finance continues to meet its regulatory obligations. You will be a trusted advisor across the business, helping embed a strong culture of compliance while supporting sound governance and risk management practices. About you: Proven experience in risk, compliance or governance within financial services or another highly regulated industry Extensive hands‑on experience working with New Zealand regulatory frameworks and legislation, with the ability to confidently interpret and apply NZ‑specific requirements in a practical business context Strong knowledge of at least one of the following: CCCFA, AML/CFT, Privacy Act 2020, FMCA, or Financial Advice Provider obligations Experience developing, reviewing and maintaining compliance policies, procedures and governance frameworks The ability to influence and partner with senior leaders across the business Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities Open to experienced collections or credit managers who are keen to move into risk & compliance and can demonstrate strong leadership and regulatory awareness On a daily basis you will: Lead the monitoring and interpretation of regulatory and legislative changes, assessing their impact on the business Drive the implementation of regulatory changes through updated policies, procedures, controls and business processes Develop, review and maintain compliance frameworks, policies, registers and governance documentation Partner with senior leaders to provide advice on regulatory obligations, emerging risks and compliance best practice Prepare compliance reporting for senior management, Executive Leadership Team and regulatory bodies Support internal and external audits, complaints management and regulatory reporting Lead and contribute to compliance and governance projects that strengthen the organisation's control environment Deliver compliance training and promote awareness across the business Act as backup support for the operational Risk & Compliance Officer, including Health & Safety and operational compliance activities Foster a proactive culture of compliance, continuous improvement and accountability across the organisation Why us?
