Nelson City Council is looking for a highly organised and proactive Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our Regulatory Building team. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the systems, processes, and initiatives that support our Building Consent Authority (BCA) accreditation and quality assurance framework. You'll work collaboratively across the organisation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, strengthen quality practices, and drive continuous improvement. About the role | Kō tēnei tūranga mahi Reporting to the Manager Building, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the BCA Quality Assurance Management System, maintaining key relationships and providing excellent customer service both internally and externally while supporting Council's ongoing accreditation obligations. Key Responsibilities Include Managing and maintaining quality systems, procedures, and documentation Undertaking and coordinating internal audits and accreditation activities Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes Maintaining compliance records, registers, and reporting requirements Providing quality assurance advice, training, and support to staff Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across regulatory services Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external agencies, and customers About you | Ko ngā pūmanawa ō You’ll Bring Excellent relationship-building, customer service and communication skills Experience working with quality assurance or quality management systems Strong process improvement and documentation skills Experience undertaking and coordinating audits and compliance activities Confidence using business systems, databases, Microsoft Office, and digital tools Relevant work experience in business, administration, quality management, IT, or related field.
