Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role We are looking to appoint a professional with a Masters degree in sport science or nutrition as our Research Trials Assistant for three school-based physical activity initiatives: Healthy Active Learning ('the initiative') is a joint government initiative between Sport NZ, Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education. It seeks to improve the wellbeing of tamariki and rangatahi through healthy eating and drinking, and quality physical activity. The global adolescent and child physical activity questionnaire (GAC-PAQ) is a global, effort at validating a survey that can be used around the world. We will be helping with the validation of this survey by visiting schools to collect data from 8 - 18-year-olds. The Body Project is an internationally recognised eating disorder prevention programme designed to improve body image in young people. We are undertaking an online pilot trial in some secondary schools. This one-year, fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to pivotal initiatives aimed at promoting healthy eating, drinking, and physical activity among young people. You will be working alongside a team of academics, postgraduate and undergraduate students. About you | Ko koe tēnei MSc in Sport Science or Nutrition (or equivalent) Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Prior experience in evaluation research - preferably evaluations like Healthy Active Learning Experience working with children and teenagers. Experience and proficiency with the use of digital technologies in research. Experience working in a collaborative team environment. Full, clean driver's license The employment setting will involve work with people across the lifespan and applicants will be required to comply with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014 and the Vulnerable Children (Requirements for Safety Checks of Children's Workers) Regulations 2015.
