The Opportunity Working closely with our leadership team, you will play a key role in launching and growing IIS NZ's underwriting operation across New Zealand. This is a hands-on role where you will balance technical underwriting with business development, broker engagement and helping establish the systems, processes and underwriting culture that will support our future growth. As our business expands, you will have the opportunity to grow with it. What you will do: Build strong, trusted relationships with brokers throughout New Zealand. Help establish underwriting processes, standards and best practice from the outset. Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and product improvements. Play a key role in establishing IIS NZ by working closely with our Australian Underwriting team to build underwriting capability and a strong foundation for future growth. Underwrite new business, renewals and endorsements within delegated authority. Assess complex risks and provide commercially sound underwriting solutions. Work closely with Claims, Compliance and Operations to deliver exceptional service. Represent IIS NZ at broker meetings, industry events and networking opportunities. Share your technical expertise and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused culture. About You You will be someone who enjoys building, improving and making things happen. You will bring: Significant commercial and/or property underwriting experience. A strong understanding of the New Zealand insurance market. Excellent broker relationship and business development skills. Strong technical underwriting capability and commercial judgement. The confidence to work autonomously while contributing to a growing team. A proactive, adaptable mindset and a genuine willingness to roll up your sleeves. A passion for building relationships and delivering exceptional service. Ideally you will also have: Experience within an MGA or Lloyd's Coverholder environment. ANZIIF qualifications or equivalent. Experience working in a growing, entrepreneurial or start-up business (highly regarded). Why IIS NZ?
