Safe City Guardian
Rotorua Lakes Council is looking for a community-minded and proactive Safe City Guardian to help create a safer, more welcoming city centre for residents, businesses and visitors.
In this varied role, you will be a visible presence in the community, building positive relationships, assisting vulnerable people, responding to safety concerns, monitoring public spaces, and working closely with Police, Maori Wardens, emergency services and other key partners. You will also support Council's CCTV operations and Parking Services team when required.
We are looking for someone with strong communication and conflict resolution skills, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. Experience in security, community safety, compliance, regulatory or customer-facing roles would be advantageous.
Applicants must hold a full New Zealand Driver Licence, have a clean Police record, be comfortable using technology, and be able to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays.
If you're passionate about community safety and enjoy working with people, we'd love to hear from you.
